Often times, new writers feel they must know the entire plot to their story. New writers may also feel that they need to know where and how their story is going to end. This is not exactly true. It is actually better if you do not know where your story is going to end up. If you learn something from your story, more than likely, readers will also take more away and learn from your story.

How to Practice Writing the Perfect Opening to Your Novel. BEGINNING SENTENCES
First sentences should begin in the middle of the scene, where the action is located. Forgo all the intro story stuff… The beginning sentences should have some sort of action and excitement. Beginning sentences can be done in numerous way such as with dialog and/or physical action.
The goal for these beginning sentences is to draw the reader into your book, leaving the reader wanting more. The concept of drawing the reader in is called the “HOOK.”
