Mosaico Writing

Beginnings are a significant part of any story.  I’ve read in many writing technique books and websites that say it is important to hook the reader in the first sentence or at least in the first paragraph.

The character’s eyes in Beloved serve as so much more than just descriptive physical character traits. They serve as a magnifying glass, exposing the character’s soul and mindset and allowing the reader a greater understanding of how the characters perceive the world around them.
